About Pioneer Elevator Inspections
Pioneer Elevator Inspections was founded on the belief that elevator owners, contractors, and industry professionals deserve thorough, consistent, and professional inspections from someone who understands both the technical requirements of the code and the practical realities of the industry.
My name is Tim Banks, and I am the owner of Pioneer Elevator Inspections, LLC. Prior to starting Pioneer, I served the State of Georgia as an Elevator Safety Inspector, Supervisor, and Code Liaison. During my time with the State, I conducted inspections, supervised inspectors across North Georgia, provided code interpretations, participated in plan review, and worked closely with elevator contractors, engineers, and building owners throughout the state.
Today, I bring that experience to every inspection I perform. As a QEI Certified Elevator Inspector and Georgia Commissioned Elevator Inspector, I provide independent inspection services with a commitment to safety, professionalism, and integrity.
At Pioneer Elevator Inspections, our goal is simple: to provide fair, consistent, and code-based inspections while helping our customers navigate the inspection process as smoothly as possible. Whether you are a homeowner installing a residential elevator, a contractor completing a modernization, or a building owner maintaining existing equipment, you can expect responsive service, clear communication, and a practical understanding of the codes and regulations governing your project.
The name "Pioneer" reflects the values on which this company was built—hard work, independence, honesty, and a commitment to doing things the right way. Those principles guide every inspection we perform.
Thank you for visiting our website. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you.

Residential Acceptance Inspection Process
Step 1: Contact Pioneer Elevator Inspections
Contact Pioneer Elevator Inspections to discuss your project and request an inspection.
Step 2: Required Documentation
Before an inspection can be scheduled, Georgia requires the following information to be submitted:
A valid State permit
Georgia-approved and stamped layout drawings
A signed service agreement with Pioneer Elevator Inspections
The elevator contractor is responsible for providing the permit and approved drawings. Once received, Pioneer Elevator Inspections will submit the required documentation to the State for review.
Step 3: State Review
The State must review and approve the submitted documentation before an inspection can be scheduled.
Step 4: Schedule the Inspection
Once State approval has been received, an inspection date will be coordinated with the elevator contractor and homeowner.
Step 5: Inspection Day
A Georgia licensed elevator mechanic must be present during the inspection. The inspection includes a review of safety devices, operating functions, required documentation, and applicable code requirements.
Step 6: Inspection Results
Upon successful completion of the inspection, the results will be submitted to the State for final approval.
If deficiencies are identified, a report will be provided outlining any items requiring correction before approval can be granted.
